Green Springs Families,
As the school year is now in full swing I hope everyone has settle into that “school schedule”. With the majority of the PTO board serving their first year we are working hard to come up with new ideas and activities to better serve our school. If anyone wants to share ideas or participate in the meetings they are open to all Green Spring Families. Our next couple PTO meetings are November 11th and January 14th both starting at 7:00 in the library.
Our major fundraising event of the year was the Fall Fun Festival. What a huge success it was. The PTO staff would like to thank all the parent volunteers and teachers that participated during the night of fun. Jenny White and Shelia Tappan worked extremely hard for several months planning the event and we are very thankful for their dedication. The classes competed in a scarecrow decorating competition where Ms Hart’s class won a $50 gift card by receiving the most votes. Families were able to sit down together and take part in a Chris Cakes Pancake dinner. The kids where entertained with temporary tattoos, pictures with friends and Bumpy Knuckles the Clown while the parents participated in the silent auction.
As we approach the holidays and the end of 2008 I wanted to remind everyone of several upcoming activities that the PTO is organizing:
November 21st – Movie Night – Come enjoy free popcorn while watching Camp Rock with the family.
January 20th – Skate Party – Come out to Skate City, roller skate with classmates and participate in games where you have the chance to win some great prizes.
